Personal MBA Update

Personal MBA Update "Lead the Field" By Earl Nightingale - I finished Lead the Field a few days ago and I must say that it is one of the most efficiently written books I have ever read. The book is barely a hundred pages of large print, but it is jam packed with valuable information, advice, and quotes. I took three note cards worth of notes on this short book, and although the lessons aren't mind blowing they are incredibly insightful and practical. I recommend clicking here and buying the book, its a classic that will serve you well on throughout your life. Check out the rest of my Personal MBA reviews here as well as the Personal MBA reading list and manifesto. Here are the notes I took from the book:

- "Attitude is a reflection of a person inside"
- Successful people come in all sizes, shapes, ages and colors and in wide varying degrees of intelligence and education. But they have one thing in common; they expect more good out of life than bad
- German philosopher and writer Gerta, "before you can do something you must be something."
- Tyre Dejardin, "It is our duty as men and women to proceed as the limits to our ability do not exist. We are collaborators in creation."

- "No one gets rich without enriching others."
- Everything fashioned by humans is the result of goal setting
- People don't use potential of their brain. Those who do have a sense of well being and energy and purposeful enriched lives
-  Successful people are not without problems they just learn to solve them.
- What people worry about: Things that never happen 40%, things that passed  and cant be changed 30%, needless health worries 12%, petty stuff 10%, real stuff 8%
- Real legit worries - can solve or out of control
- Archibald McMeech "the only thing about a man that is a man is his mind"
- Most people never truly think their whole life, they just react to stimuli
- We have come further in the last 50 years than the previous 10,000 years; 90% of scientists are alive today

- Grand Blanchard, "There's no one meaning of life; no two lives have the same value. The richness of a life depends not only on the amount of happiness it achieves but on finding out who one is; that is about ones unique combination of powers, and then discovering through experiment and reflection, what course of life will fulfill those powers most completely,"
- Dean Riggs, "Do your work; not just your work and no more, but a little more for the lavishing sake, that little more which is worth all the res. And if you suffer you must, and if you doubt as you must, do your work. Put your heart into it and the sky will clear, and then out of your very doubt and suffering will be born the supreme joy of life."

The only requirement is the will to read; with it you can find 15 minutes no matter how busy your day. That means you will read half a book a week, two books a month, twenty a year, and one thousand in a reading lifetime. Its and easy way to become well read and it takes just fifteen minutes a day."

This book is packed with transcript errors from the audio. I can't believe you could actually finish it without falling asleep due to misunderstanding or the text. Its like a child or a machine generated the transcript. there are literally hundreds of wrong words in this version of the book.
